The Opportunity:

The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking a qualified candidate to sell Branson as a meeting and convention destination to meeting and event planners in select market segments.

  • Ability to prepare records, reports and correspondence neatly and professionally.

  • Working knowledge of the Branson hospitality industry is helpful.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Performs the following duties for the Sales Department which include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates and generates leads for meeting and convention groups in assigned markets and accounts. This includes processing RFPs and RFIs, drafting proposals, making presentations, arranging site tours, organizing FAMs, overcoming objections and closing the sale.
  • Follows up on sales leads, conducts outside sales calls and prospects for new business.
  • Works closely with area hotels and attractions to create professional proposals.
  • Attends committee meetings and makes presentations on recent activities.
  • Promotes Branson as a destination within the meeting and convention market by participating in local, regional and national travel trade shows, sales calls, conferences, marketplaces and conventions as assigned by the Director of Meeting and Convention Sales. Most conferences require overnight travel and many require extended stays, evenings and weekend work.
  • Manages contacts and information in sales database.
  • Coordinates sales blitzes and departmental sales trips as assigned.
  • Assists with all other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in sales, catering or convention services at a hotel, tourism attraction or CVB is required.
